Use bright colors such as red and yellow. Use elements that are high impact and exciting, similar to thoughts associated with sporting goods.
Focus on the types of products, services, and information you seek to promote. You are selling sporting goods, not bedding. Focus on sporting goods and stay on that approach. Don’t get side tracked with a certain color theme you favor. Make your keywords the main focus of your theme. Make them bigger, and make them stand out against all the other content.
Search engine spiders review website theme as to how it relates to keywords. It is a complicated algorithm, but it takes into consideration the use of keywords and links. Search engines look for lots of content related to the main theme throughout the site, so it’s a good idea to have lots of information written for your site.
Lots of work should go into choosing the perfect theme for your site. Make sure you are truly representing what you wish to provide. If you get bogged down with too many keywords or keyword phrases, you may need to consider additional websites that focus around this theme, instead of flooding your own site with too many products.

Nice collection, but it’s kinda hard to try them all to see what looks good for your site and what’s not even with the previews. I hope you can make the thumbnails a bit bigger.
Indeed a good suggestion. I had in fact tried out three sizes for the thumbnails and as the list is pretty long, thought the smallest one would be the best fit. But I’ll definitely take your suggestion for the next list.

Can you tell me if the theme referenced below is compatible with the current WP version?
We would like to use it but since it came out in 2005 just wasn’t sure.
Dixie Belle Theme for WordPress 1.5.
Also you seem quite versed in all of this. Is is possible to add a logo to the top of this template in your honest opinion? Just curious…

Looking for a template that has more of a wedding theme and having a difficult time finding one.
This should work just fine but wanted it to be easy to use and up to date. We also want to do a podcast reference on here so just curious about all of this.

- Unfortunately, the Dixie template does not have a logo featured on the header (top), but you can very well replace the background pic(of the flower) with your logo or any other picture. For adding an image to the header, a bit more serious tweaking is required.
The theme is not widget ready, but you can make it widget ready with some tweaks. The author of this theme is Jennifer Ledbetter. And here is her website – http://www.geeksmakemehot.com/

I can guarantee you that it’s a beautiful theme, visually appealing as well as Search Engine friendly. Just the right one you need. To add a podcast, you can simply add the Podpress plugin to this theme and it should work well. (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/podpress/)
