10 reasons why I don’t care about Google Page Rank?

Share

First off, let me ask you one question. Are you the type who just loooooves the green bar and will do anything to get it filled, or are you normal?

Now that I’ve got your attention. Let me start off by saying that GooglePage Rank is dead”.

It used to be the most popular and the most effective weapon from the Google stable. Not any more.

I mean come on, we’ve had webmasters doing crazy things to fill up their PR’s but how many did it help really?
You may have a different perspective if you are the type who builds websites and re-sell them but for serious passionate bloggers, how much of help is the Google Page Rank? Let me list out my top ten points to prove the point.

I think Google Page Rank is not for me because,

  1. I’m not going to re-sell my blog.
  2. It doesn’t give me any dignity or authority more than what the reader’s think.
  3. I don’t want to cheat Google and declare that I’m smarter.
  4. I’m not buying links.
  5. I’m not selling links (boasting about my PR).
  6. It gives me false ideas about my blog.
  7. It does not tell me how much traffic I get.
  8. It does not even tell me if my reader liked the article he just read.
  9. I don’t want to waste US $200 to buy a PR 7 link. ( I’d buy a couple of domains+hosting instead.)
  10. It is irregular and is not reliable.

I can go ahead with more points but I think the point is proven. Unless I need to sell text links, or sell my website, I don’t think Google Page Rank will help me in anyway. It is Google’s way of evaluating websites themselves and honestly, it is indeed easy to cheat them. But I don’t want to do that, because I don’t want to waste money and time on a thing that is not reliable.
