I guess this could be considered spamming, but a lot of these forum posts aren't deleted by the admins and they do get indexed by Google. If they manage to post 2-300 words "articles" and embed contextual links with clever anchor texts in several forums -- wouldn't these links count more than a signature link in 1500 posts in one forum?
