I think the methods you use also have to be customized based on the kind of site you host.

For example, my own site is a humor blog, which focuses on no particular topic. Every week, the topic shifts drastically from politics to traffic to the mess in my room...

The only consistant factor is humor, and advanced as google is, it still can't identify that very effectively. Of course I can put in tags and notes explicitly stating the nature of the content, but it's not enough to establish credibility.

Mine is a quite unnoticed blog, and it'd be a LONG time before people can search for humor or funny things and end up on my blog. As of right now, Google is probably not the right way to target traffic to my site.

In cases like this, a viral strategy may work... in theory at least. Community activity might be another way to get noticed. Frequency of articles would also help (I realize this but am still unable to churn out more than one article per week)... In any case, most of these things only seem to work on a theory basis. Right now, the only hits I seem to get is through word of mouth.

I use to update it frequently, i will choose the category first, and then do some keyword research related it, select the keyword and then write article related on it.

I will try to make my keyword in the start of the topic, usually i use long key phrase. And give meta-data using plug-ins.

I'm following this, and hoping that it will click.....

Whether it is right tactics or i have to follow some other technique's.. I'm expecting reply and suggestion :)

First, I look into my post drafts or trends and then start writing. Finished, then I do keyword research to find out long tail keywords of my recently written article and replace some words with the keywords fit the article.

My usual pattern is defining the problem, pointing out the benefits if there are solutions and present the solution.

When writing titles, I try to make it as simple and attractive as possible. Not sounding too common but also doesn't require a PhD to interpret the meaning :)

- Do you do anything to the articles, after publishing them?
Ans: Re read and update if any.

@Srijith, you mean using strong tags right? And by rewriting description you mean writing unique descriptions right ?
@Anish, Increasing posting frequency is indeed a great technique right?

Some thing I follow are
* Post it first : I try to be among the first few to create an article on any topic under my domain

* Title : Use most meaningful query structure as the Title

* Rewrite the description of each page to invite viewers

* Using Bold tag in Keywords inside the post

I just started using these technics. And i am getting 'some' results :)

I wish to add content daily as its the best way to attract readers. But I cudnt because of lack of topics and time :D. Lame excuses! I know!! :P

Btw, I got all these writing tips from fellow bloggers and SEO blogs like DSB.
