And it’s a guarantee. You have three months time (assumption), implement these and get ready to shed those green points.
(Caution: This is for the adventurous at heart, and the steps suggested are “implement-able” at your own risk.)
- Copy paste content from other blogs and websites.
Edit words like is, was and the, with suitable replacements and re publish the “refurbished” contents. - Buy links from text link brokers. Not many, a few will do.
- Go to a public forum and advertise for “link spots” available on your blog.
- Place a “links available for sale” note on your blog.
- Buy a directory submission service from Digital Point
Get 1000 link submissions for $10. - Add the text-link-ads widget on your blog.
- Make all the outbound links on your blog “nofollow”
- Sell the Russian guy a few ad spots on your blog.
- Write reviews on Text link ads and TNX, if un successful, try again.
Any experienced guys out there, please share your thoughts and add in your valuable points. Please mask your identity while doing so.

I don’t do any of these ‘things’.But in the latest update, my PR decreased from 3 to 2…why is that so?
“Write reviews on Text link ads and TNX” – really? What if it’s a negative review asking people not to use them, maybe my PR will increase lol (kidding)
Yeah Gobala, wish if that was the case lol. But yea reviews on TNX and TLA are risky, although technically we may be right nofollowing all the links etc, that is a good sign to google that you are inclined to it may be. It’s not in the records however.
It can’t be something that happens automatically right, I’m assuming it’s only the case of manual intervention, and only if you’re too much into promoting paid links etc. But a single review or two won’t hurt?
I can still show you some blogs with PR5 though they use TLA…not sure whether google is blind to those blogs or they have made those areas invisible to google
Shall we call them “exceptions” ? I don’t want to take any clues from them. I’m sure a normal blog which is not yet an authority is at risk using TLA. Discount the exceptions.
Mani, have you lose a PR of ” 1 ” ?.
Yes Anish 4-3.
For some Blogs Google give a PR of ” 1 “, I have checked this for some blogs.
Funny, but did you mean “do follow”? No follow is what you’re supposed to do.
Hrmm..not too sure I agree with all listed here.
gud information mani, thnx
aehhee..I like the #1 suggestion..But I think the 9 are not recommendable for everybody…For me I will agree 5 out of 9..That for sure..:-)BTW!! i learn from your post when I’m reading..Thanks on this..:-)
hhmm, you are right ManiKarthik. Why I didn’t read this post earlier?
I think, I lost Pagerank because I made outbound links as nofollow. I have stopped doing that now.
What should I do now? Will I get PR back in future?
I do none of the above on any of my sites.
Can you please explain why should all outbound links not be no follow? I mean whats the point of do following a link if it goes to Wikipedia?
Aditya, nofollowing all the links on a site is quite unnatural isn’t it ? That’s not the wya it twas supposed to be. Being natural is passing the oogle juice to reputed links while selectively blocking all the “unsure” links. Blindly blocking all the outgoing links with nofollow tags will only put you in “doubtful practitioners” list.
Ah. Understood. So, I should make some of them do follow. But which ones? Will it make a difference if I link to some higher ranked pages or lower ones?
Here’s the thing. If you know that a site that you’re linking to is reputed, i.e then its safe to leave the pag rank flow, but if its a shady/unreputed site like one that’s new, with doubtful content, shady links, copied content or anything like that leave the link nofollow.
Okay. Thanks a lot for the advice and help.
