WordPress Serial posts plugin – Group all parts of your serial posts together

Share

This is a plugin for bloggers who often write serial posts. You know, like the Part 1, Part 2 type where it’s difficult for a new visitor to find out where it started and ended. This plugin apparently makes it easy to list down all the posts in the serial post by adding a custom field.

The author says –

This is a very straightforward and easy to configure plugin that allows you to assign a Serial name, using custom fields, to your posts and then automatically displays a list of all other posts which have been assigned to the same Serial name when viewing this post in your single post page (usually single.php or index.php).

Features
  • Allows you to assign posts to a Serial, using custom fields, and then displays a list of all posts assigned to the same Serial in your single post page (usually single.php or index.php).
  • The position of the Serial Posts list on your page is determined by where you insert the Serial Posts template tag in your single.php or index.php template file.
  • You can create as many different Serials as you wish.
  • User options for including the currently viewed post in the list, with or without a link.
  • Configurable Heading for the Serial Posts list.
  • Valid xhtml output.
  • Highly customisable CSS styling of the Heading and Serial Posts list.
  • Tested to be compatible with WordPress 2.5 to 2.7
  • Tested to be compatible with WordPress Mu to 2.6.5

  1. Good find – I had searched and found many plugins, but all of them were compatible upto 2.6 only.

Is it a coincidence that I was searching for that plugin to start a post series on blog SEO, and I found the plugin from another SEO blog :)

  2. Nice – I was searching for such a plugin but all I found were WP2.6 compatible.

Is it a coincidence I’m using the plugin to write a SEO series, and found the plugin on an SEO blog? :)
