Well sitemaps are a huge help to SE’s, even though they might not directly affect your SERPs. They help better indexing that’s it. There are a lot more factors to SERPs beyond sitemaps.

I don’t find a need for sitemaps.

Most pages are almost instantly cached by google and sitemap’s are mostly a predicament for static sites.

You should refrain from focusing on crap which doesn’t help in any way and should first do some research on REAL SEO and REAL online marketing.

I don’t see any value in this tool.

I’m glad to see that Google’s offering is improving. At one stage there was great debate on this topic and the general consensus was to steer away from using sitemaps as it was actually only makes matters worse from a SEO perspective. This seems to have been remedied now…..
