How much traffic can Twitter give ?

Share

For those of you still not convinced about what Twitter can give to your website, think again. Most of the sites, Twitter is already giving 1/3rd – 1/4th of its total traffic – those who have embraced the power of Twitter that is.

Shoemoney gets a cool 1/3rd of his traffic from Twitter.

DSB gets a nice 1/4th of its traffic from Twitter too, that is indeed a nice thing. What’s important is that 99% of the traffic is from other people’s tweets.

So if you haven’t yet embraced Twitter, try it out this time around.

  1. Nice post, in fact I found you on Twitter and follow on to read this post. Now that also confirms that Twitter does bring in the traffic no matter how small, but it’s still traffic :)

  2. I agree it’s an incredibly powerful tool, but the 2 examples you site are for Tech centric websites. Would be good to add others that are not tech centric.

  3. I agree with the comment. I never really believed that twitter could send that much traffic but looks like the proof is in the pudding. I still can’t believe it’s lasted this long though :)

  4. Hey Mani

Not sure why people keep saying twitter.com referrals are ‘How much traffic’ is coming from twitter….

Only click throughs from the web interface register as twitter traffic the rest from desktop/iphone/etc. clients which if you believe some of the numbers accounts for 80-90% of twitter users gets registered as DIRECT traffic..

So your referrals from twitter are much more than just that twitter.com number ;)

Joost wrote some good stuff abtou it along with some further ways to track the real amount of twitter hits

  5. True. I was also amazed by the traffic Twitter gives. Right now around 40-45% traffic to my blog is through Twitter.
And ya As Roger Said, this is only, clicks from the twitter web interface. I wonder how much traffic it truly gives.

  6. Though I have a twitter account I am not an active person . But I will try your tip .
Let see whether there is any difference . And even a click is a traffic as Vikas says .
Also please do make the necessary changes as I am not able to see the last line when trying to comment.
Have a great day . And I will let you know whether it works or not . :)

  7. I have found that around 10% of my traffic comes through Twitter.

  8. twitter is a very good tool to get traffic if you use it the right way,if you start to abusing with it will backfire on you.

  9. It is a great source of traffic! As long as you can provide some viral content and have real followers the message will spread really fast and if your tweet is picked up by a “BIG” twitter account its almost scary to see the stats.

  10. I run many sites but never used twitter before but I think i should try it for my new site. I also checked shoemoney post and saw his 2nd biggest source of traffic is twitter. After digging, I think You need to incrase the followers to get max traffic.

  11. I tried twitter sometime but may i didnt get the right tools and ways to use it and so didnt have any success with it. May be i need to follow the good trends of it again.

  12. All of my traffic is coming from Twitter.

  13. I have noticed that when my Twitter traffic picks up, my Google Adsense price per clicks drop. I am wondering if Google doesn’t consider traffic from Twitter, quality traffic?
