Why would others follow you on Twitter ? 10 tips that may help
One of my friends suggested me this new ebook that will teach me how to make an unbelievable number of followers in an unbelievable number of days. I’m glad I declined the offer, because I knew all the way that none of those “tricks” were going to work and it all sounded way too good to be true. Not that I’m against buying any book, but these “way too awesome” promises mostly end up as a waste of time, or that’s what my experience taught.
If someone had to follow me on Twitter, I’m sure they’re doing it because they are convinced. Not because someone asked them to or because they over heard something about you. I strongly believe that everyone has a reason as to why they’re following someone else.
Let me try and share with you the 10 (possible) reasons why others would consider following you on Twitter. It makes sense to me, and works in my case, probably they’ll help you as well.
1. Because they see value in your Tweets.
2. Because you followed them first.
3. Because they want to learn from you.
4. Because they want a favour done.
5. Because they think that you’re a big deal.
6. Because another respected tweep recommended you.
7. Because they found you through an authority source.
8. Because you are also good elsewhere.
9. Because you are a friendly person willing to help.

Great Tips for tweeple =)
Mani, please write about Twitter applications,
if it already here,sorry.
Reason 11. Because they’re hoping you’ll follow them back so that they can DM spam you.
Great post Mani, give value first and you’ll get unexpected results. That’s the secret to twitter, be real, be unique, be you and just have fun, conversate and interact, you’ll gain followers and credibility on it’s own.
Btw, your blog looks great. Have you seen the “tweetmeme” button? It looks like the “digg” button, let’s others retweet your content, I’m sure you’ll get a lot of retweets.
