Some of them do charge you, but they are probably worth it. Otherwise, I dont see a reason why they should stand in business for this long.

Agree, there are lots of dirs out there that might be reputable but not popular. Im not a fan of dir submission so, may not spend more time on them except for a couple of best ones like these.
