Share

Google today announced that from today on, if you haven’t used the change font size option it released lately, the default ads on AdSense will spot slightly bigger text, which is the “medium” font size.

This is going to change the AdSense optimization rules for many websites now, because many webmasters had optimized their website fonts to match that of the AdSense ads which were small.

  1. According to Premium Adsense Publishers Larger Fonts with Style matching the Content Font always performed Better.

I guess CTR will increase a bit… for all Sites with 336×280 blocks…

Although Large Fonts are not working on 468×60 ad text banners.

  2. EzineArticles.com does the best job I’ve seen at styling their AdSense. Here’s an example: http://ezinearticles.com/?Hosted-VoIP-Helps-to-Cut-Down-Your-Phone-Calls&id=2514219

If it weren’t for their own message saying that they were ads, I would have never guessed. They blend right in.

Does anyone know how they are not displaying the “ads by Google” message at the bottom? Is that old Google code or what?

  3. yes, I almost curious haw ezinearticles do that.

I think it’s premium adsense publisher, which allowed to change the google code, I guess

  4. It might be because when the font size is bigger readers get confused that it’s a ads or a link. That’s how it becomes successful to do it.

  5. I think its working i have a 10% increasing in revenue.
