Google’s secret project is looking for feedback from testers – Interested ?
Google “secret” project, a better and faster search engine than the current one, is about to go live and is looking for feedback from users now.
What is the Google “secret” project ?
A next-generation architecture for Google’s web search. It’s the first step in a process that will let Google push the envelope on size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and other dimensions.
The engine, looks and performs like the normal search, but Google promises that it is different and is more quicker, accurate and comprehensive in results.
You can test the new search engine here
How to give feedback ?
Do a search at http://www2.sandbox.google.com/ and look on the search results page for a link at the bottom of the page that says "Dissatisfied? Help us improve." Click on that link, type your feedback in the text box and then include the word caffeine somewhere in the text box.
What differences can you find from the normal Google search ?

I have found a few differences, especially with the local business map results….they cleaned up the display finally! Check out the rest of my article on the New Google Search Engine http://www.brianyerkes.com/new-google-search-engine/
I found “Press Releases” appear for certain searches, they werent there earlier (for those searches).
Also the YouTube vid results appear towards the bottom/middle for terms where they used to show on the top.
I have found “dindigul” word, google current search engine give a more than 1,510,000 in (.09sec). but the new generation give a more result “1,860,000 ” in(0.6sec).
it’s good.
i have one doubt. www2 – it means 2ed generation ?
and why sandbox ?
Cheers
Elijah
@Elijah – That’s the URL address they use for testing… since it isn’t fully ready to be released to the huge majority of internet users who use Google, they are keeping it at a different section of their servers.
I does seem faster to me… and the SERPs for one keyword that is moderately difficult with about 40k searches a month, the top 10 are quite different (with my site as #10, whereas on the normal search for my data center, i am #14)… but other results in the top 10 are in different orders, and there’s 2 other “new” results compared to the normal search with my data center.
