Google Webmasters tool shows incorrect number of indexed pages

There’s an update from a Google Employee (unofficially though), that for some webmasters the number of indexed pages shown in Google Webmasters Tool for their website showed up incorrectly in the last few days and that Google is actually working on the problem which might have been fixed by the time you are reading this now.

There have been minor glitches with Google Webmasters Tool recently, so you know what to do when you find something bizzare. Just relax and wait for another day, if you found it (and is genuine), Google would have already found and fixed it.

Did you get any glitches with Google / Webmasters tool recently ?

  8. I am finding that the number of URLs shown as indexed in WMT is not the actual number in the live results pages – I guess GWMT is a bit ahead of the SERP datacenters.

  9. I am trying to decipher the difference between submitted URLs and URLs in web index in the sitemap section. Some sites have 32 urls submitted, but none in the web index, others have about 3/4 of the urls in the web index. What do the URLs in the web index mean???

  10. one of my sites, shows no indexed pages, but when a site search on google is done it shows about 15.
The site is only about 2 weeks old, but it shows that webmaster tools isnt always accurate

  11. I have always used webmaster tools to verify and get indexed by google quicker than if i just drop a link somewhere, if i am finding my site does not have all pages indexed i only then submit a sitemap
