Dell support technician in India, downloaded my nude pics without permission – says woman

This is an embarrassing case for Dell. Tara Fitzgerald, a Sacramento based woman trusted the Dell technician in India, when she called up the customer support – that’s the mistake she did.
When some pictures was missing in her computer, she called up the Dell technician in Mumbai, India for help and granted him remote access to her PC. And while he was trying to help her, she claims that she saw him find the pictures, and download them.
The problem is that the pictures were personal and only meant for her boyfriend. Things got worse, when the pictures got posted on an adult website.
The technician Tara says called himself Riyaz Shaikh and had interesting stories to offer since then. Riyaz Shaikh later offered her help to take down the adult website, and even offered her new Dell gear that he promised to ship her. Later, Riyaz called Tara to reveal that he had fallen in love with another woman from the US and that he had used her credit card details to buy her several other Dell devices !
Now, this is like the weirdest WTF story I’ve heard recently. One question that pops up is what is Dell doing with such situations ? Are they enforcing strict laws and guidelines for technicians in customer support ? I mean, we’ve heard about the credit card story time and again, but aren’t they doing nothing about it ?

Vaibhav seems prototypical of indian men, I grew up in India till i was 17, who hide their sexual desires or whatever because it is ‘improper’ because they are prudish and then end up being just like the dell guy, finding strange ways to release it. Vaibhav, it is ok to read or see nude women..it is healthy. It is NOT healthy to have perverted fantasies because you have been denying what is natural. It is NOT healthy to spy on other women because you are a sick perv.
Props to Mani for posting this, I have found indian call centers to be quite useless and unhelpful. No wonder we are constantly mocked by others.
Hope Dell India realises they do shitty customer service over the phone and work to fix it. Some of their employees work more like government babus than working for a highly reputed IT firm.

This is the weirdest customer care story ever! What is wrong with Dell? First the crappy h/w quality and now this. Seems like they do not care anymore!
the dell technician disgusts me……..no way we can support such behaviour…..DELL needs to crack down the customer care executive….Now i don’t know whether anything will happen unless DELL feels news like this affects the perception of their brand….I do not support outsourcing wholeheartedly eventhough it is benefiting my country’s economy bcos if crooks like Riyaz can misuse the personal information and cheat money of those who provide bread to him (indirectly)…………………it is going to create public opinion against outsourcing……….these sex perverts brings shame to our country.
