How to: Send email to Facebook users based on location ?
So you have a fan page for your website/product and there are several people who “like” it. And you have this event to which you want to invite them to. Assuming your “supporters” are from around the world, it might be irrelevant to send an email to everyone in the list. Because all of them are not in one location.
So how do you send an email to everyone in your Facebook page ?
This is fairly simple.
1 – Go to your facebook fan page, click on Edit button right below your avatar.
2 – Click on “Send an Update”
I wonder why its not called “Message everyone”, anyways…
Type your message and send to all.
Now, if you’d like to send the message/update to selected users from particular locations, then facebook lets you do it, the following way.
3. Select “Target this update”
Now, an array of options pop up, with options such as – Location, Sex, and Age limit.
So if you want to send a message to all the guys in NY, who’re your fans, and between the age limit of 20-25, you could easily do that.
This is one of the things I love about Facebook fan pages. Now, you make use of it.

Sorry, that’s not true. This function does not send e-mail messages. The updates are delivered in the messaging system of Facebook (subfolder updates).
how to send msg to specific and selected fans?
I think Thomas Hutter is write its not going to send emails, updates are delivered in the messaging system.

i have used this method. i think it’s not efficient and practical. it seems facebook users rarely click on ‘update’ folder. it doesn’t show up on ‘news feed’ either..
We did this some time ago, but from our experience we have to agree with primichic and Thomas Hutter, it is not a very efficient way to get your message across. Even with the new Facebook updates, you can still do the same, (the screen images are a little different that what is above), however, I think it is still not very useful. The best way to contact your client/customer’s is by having them subscribe to a monthly newsletter.
