Site disappeared from Google results?

So you woke up one fine morning and saw that your site has completely disappeared from Google search results. Even, searching for your domain won’t give a result on Google. Panic time!

To cross check, you check the analytics data and find that there is a huge drop in organic traffic. What to do now?

Don’t panic. There’s solution.

Google can make mistakes too. Most of the time, they are technical mistakes. Like you bought a new domain from someone without knowing that it was penalized earlier. Or you bought some links from your SEO agency, and next thing you know you are totally out of Google search!

How to get a website back on Google?

Its fairly simple. Use Google reconsideration tool.

Google Reconsideration tool is used by webmasters to let Google know of a possible error by which a website was thrown out of Google search results. And if corrected properly, Google will let your site back in.

But before submitting a reconsideration application, webmasters got to check the following.

- Are there malware on your site? (Use Google Webmasters tool)
- Are your articles linking to spammy websites?
- Is there duplicate content on your website?
- Are there crawl errors on the site?
- Is your basics set right? (Robots.txt, Sitemap etc)

If everything is okay and you don’t find any problem, its time to nudge Google.

Use the Reconsideration Tool to let Google know of the problem and they should get back to you soon. It will take some time (weeks) for Google team to review the site, but once its proved that there is nothing wrong with your site, you should be right back in.
