Klout is probably the only service out there that does a good job at sorting social media ranks. There has been many attempts by different companies in this area, but Klout has clearly stood apart from the bunch.

Though their tool are widely used and accepted, not many really know how the social influence ranking system works. Klout, does a bit of explanation with the metrics in your profile, but what is the algorithm behind it, nobody knows.

Klout has come forward with an explanation. It has launched a new section on their website that will tell you how the whole system works.

A good attempt from the company, it clearly improves their credibility and “influence”.
