While you may be unfamiliar with the roads in a new destination, it doesn’t hurt to familiarize yourself with the busiest roads and try as much as possible to avoid them. Find the roads that are not too busy and use those instead. You will enjoy an easier time driving with fewer cars on the road. While taking alternative, less busy routes may mean you travel for longer, it is a small price to pay for the peace of mind that comes with it. It also presents an opportunity for you to discover amazing sceneries and sights.

Do not drive when you are feeling emotional. All these factors make you susceptible to road rage. A small mistake by another road user will set you off. When you are alert, you are able to foresee hazardous situations on the road and prevent them from occurring. You will also be more tolerant of other drivers.
